In Marcheno, Valtrompia, the beating heart of Italy’s gunsmithing tradition, Stefano Contessa started a small business in 1974 operating in the field of precision mechanical small parts, putting his professional skills to good use. Over the years, sons Alessandro and Andrea, who grew up inside their father’s workshop, learned the secrets of the trade and the importance of performing workmanship to the highest standards. The imprinting given by their father enables them to produce mechanical parts of high precision and quality by combining tradition with technological innovation. In the early 2000s, Contessa decided to bring its experience to bear by developing its own product with patented mechanics: thus Simple Black, Contessa’s first line of optics mounts, was born.

Ambition, stubbornness and endless hours of work have led a small business such as a family-run workshop to develop into a full-fledged, globally competitive company. The finesse and quality that have always distinguished Contessa’s signature workmanship have made their products unique and inimitable, with perfect design and mechanics.

Contessa is constantly evolving and expanding, always seeking refinement and innovation. Since December 2017, the company has moved to a new plant, in which new high-tech machinery is used for production and quality control. To date it boasts an excellent range of products, known worldwide for their quality, design and functionality.

Currently, the company consists of 15 employees with high technical skills in the arms industry and particularly focused on respecting and sharing the company’s values.
